IJN Light Cruiser Sakawa 1:350 is a plastic kit of the Japanese Agano-class light cruiser from Hasegawa, with etched parts and decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic ship kit in 1:350 scale from the Japanese maker Hasegawa. It captures the Japanese light cruiser Sakawa, the fourth and last unit of the Agano class, completed in the closing stage of the Second World War. The package includes etched parts and decals; the model is built and painted.
Sakawa was a light cruiser of the Agano class of the Imperial Japanese Navy, completed at the end of 1944 as the flagship of a torpedo flotilla. Given her late completion and the shortage of fuel she took only a limited part in the fighting. She came through the war and afterwards was used in the postwar nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll.
Decide between building the full hull or a waterline version. The deck details and railings will stand out once the etched parts are fitted, and these should be bonded with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply the paints with an airbrush, and fine-tune the tonal transitions and the emphasis on details with washes and a dry brush. The model looks good on a suitable stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
