Two ship cranes for boats and aircraft, for German warships, 1:350 scale from Spalah. A resin accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for a model, not a ship kit: the ship cranes with which warships handled their boats and their shipboard aircraft, in 1:350 scale. The box states two pieces and names the Bismarck, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau and Tirpitz. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Spalah, which 3D-prints its parts from photopolymer resin and supplies them with print supports.
The large German battleships carried folding cranes on the upper deck, with which the crew lowered the ship's boats into the water and also the floatplane the vessel used for reconnaissance. A crane is a thin lattice or tubular structure with pulleys, that is the kind of part which in injection-molded plastic cannot be made any way other than disproportionately heavy.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut the print supports away and sand the marks with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Fit the cranes among the very last parts, so that they are not broken during further work. Paint them separately, off the model and preferably with an airbrush, and check the angle of the jib dry before fitting, because even a small deviation shows on such a thin structure.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base kit, the boats, the aircraft, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
