A detail set in turned metal containing 9 American barrels of 406 mm (16 inch) caliber in the Mark 7 build for turrets with blast bags. 1:350 scale. It is not a ship model but accurate metal replacements for the barrels of the main caliber. The version with blast bags differs from the version without them, so choose the set according to the particular ship.
The 16in/50 Mark 7 gun was the main armament of the American battleships of the Iowa class and of the planned Montana class. The longer barrel compared with the Mark 6 gave a higher muzzle velocity and greater range. The ships of the Iowa class carried nine of them and served until the end of the 20th century.
Separate the barrels from the gate, clean them up and seat them in the cleaned-out holes of the turrets. Glue with cyanoacrylate. Treat the metal with a base coat (primer) before painting.
This is an add-on detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
