This is an accessory for modelers, not a model in its own right. The set holds nine precisely turned metal barrels of 203 mm caliber (8 inches, 55 calibers long) for the main guns of American heavy cruisers. The metal barrels replace the plastic parts from a kit and bring a straight shape, a symmetrical muzzle and fine detail with no parting seams.
Eight-inch guns of 203 mm/55 caliber made up the main armament of American heavy cruisers in the Second World War. Nine barrels match the usual arrangement of three gun turrets with three barrels each.
Separate the barrels carefully, clean off any flash and degrease them. Spray the metal with a primer for metal first and glue with super glue. The accurate muzzles stand out even after washes and naval weathering have been applied.
These are replacement parts, not a kit in their own right. The base ship model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
