British Navy Pom-Pom Mounting 1:350 - detail set, Flyhawk

A detail refinement set from Flyhawk in 1:350 scale, focused on the British multiple-barrel pom-pom antiaircraft gun. It is neither a ship kit nor a model in its own right - it is an accessory with which you replace the coarser plastic antiaircraft mountings on a ship you are already building and gain considerably finer detail. The set combines photo-etched parts, cast resin pieces and turned metal barrels, so that the finished mounting looks realistic even from close up.

Use and tips

• The set is intended for British warships in 1:350 scale - it suits above all vessels carrying multiple-barrel pom-poms, for example the King George V class.
• Before gluing, wash the resin parts to remove mold release residue and cut off the casting blocks.
• Glue the photo-etched and metal parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate); cement for plastic does not bond to them.
• Paint the tiny barrels and the photo-etched frames separately with an airbrush and finish the assembly with tweezers.
• Before buying, check that the set matches your particular ship and scale.
