A photo-etched set of IJN ship's boats in 1:350 scale from Flyhawk for refining the boats carried on the decks of Japanese warships from Aoshima kits.

This is a photo-etched accessory, not a stand-alone ship model. The set contains fine brass parts for building and refining the small boats carried on deck, cutters as well as motor boats, which Japanese warships carried during the Second World War. The parts replace coarser injection-molded pieces and add detail such as seats, ribbing and fittings, which cannot be captured by injection molding at this scale.
Ship's boats are among the prominent elements in the silhouette of any larger ship. The photo-etched version gives the sides of the boats a thinness correct to scale and faithful interior fittings, so that once painted and seated in their davits they lift the overall impression of the model noticeably. The set is intended for Aoshima kits of Japanese warships in 1:350 scale.
