A plastic kit of the iconic DeLorean DMC-12 sports car in 1:43 scale from the maker Aoshima. It is a simplified model with a pull-back motor, which once assembled drives off as a forty-three times smaller replica of the famous car. Its undemanding build makes it suitable as a quick project or a gift for enthusiasts.
The DeLorean DMC-12 was built in the early 1980s by John DeLorean's firm in Northern Ireland. The car became famous for its unmistakable body of unpainted stainless steel, its gull-wing doors and its wedge-shaped design by the Giugiaro studio. Despite its short production run it became a cult icon of popular culture.
Use liquid cement for plastic and clean the joints up carefully. You can capture the look of bare stainless steel with shades of silver and chrome and light polishing; a darker effect in the panel lines is achieved with a panel wash. Bond the glazing and the headlights with clear glue so that no fogging occurs.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
