P-40N Warhawk in 1:48 scale from Eduard. A limited edition commemorating the 15000th aircraft delivered by Curtiss, which carried the emblems of 28 nations.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the American P-40N fighter in a limited edition. Besides plastic parts from Eduard's own mold it contains pre-painted photo-etched parts and a mask set for the glazing, and the instructions are in Czech and English. The decals offer two markings: the ceremonially painted 15000th aircraft of November 1944 and, as a bonus, the machine of Captain Philip Colman of the 26th Fighter Squadron, 5th Fighter Group, from Ankang in China in 1944.
When the 15000th aircraft delivered to customers left the Curtiss plant in Buffalo in November 1944, its surface was covered with the emblems of the 28 nations that operated the company's machines. That exceptional paint scheme is the main theme of the edition. The P-40N was the most numerous version of the type: a lightened structure, glazing with an improved view to the rear and an Allison engine made it a machine that did well at low and medium altitudes over China, Burma and the Pacific.
The pre-painted photo-etched parts only need to be separated carefully and glued with cyanoacrylate glue; repainting them is not necessary. Apply the masks before spraying the cockpit and remove them only after the last coat has dried. Prepare a smooth gloss base under the rich markings of the 15000th machine so that the decals do not go dull or fold over the rivets.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
