Responsibility details are not available.
A large injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier-borne strategic bomber Douglas A-3D-2 Skywarrior in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. The model offers finely engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit, a clear canopy and folding wings for stowage on deck; the box also contains photo-etched seat belts. Because of its size and parts count it is a more demanding build for experienced modelers. Check the exact package contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Douglas A-3 Skywarrior was an American carrier-borne bomber originally intended to deliver heavy loads from the decks of aircraft carriers. It was powered by two jet engines in nacelles under the wings and was among the largest and longest-serving carrier jet aircraft ever — it entered service in the middle of the 1950s and served in various roles, including tanker and reconnaissance duties, until the close of the Cold War.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic, and fix the photo-etched belts with cyanoacrylate. Paint and highlight the detailed cockpit before you close the fuselage, and mask the clear canopy during spraying. Decide in advance whether you will build the wings folded or spread. Apply a primer and the paints with an airbrush, apply the decals over a gloss coat and bring out the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
