1:48 A5M2b Claude, Kelik interior 3D decals carry raised cockpit detail straight onto the plastic parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set from Kelik for the cockpit interior of the Japanese A5M2b carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model and not a set of castings: what you get is a decal film with a raised relief, which you transfer onto the parts of a kit. The target kit is Wingsy Kits and it is bought separately.
The A5M was the first all-metal carrier monoplane of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The A5M2b version, with fixed landing gear and an open pilot's station, fought over China, and the Allies later listed it under the code name Claude. The cockpit was simple and clearly laid out, so on a finished model practically every element that comes out in it draws the eye. The open pilot's station also means that the interior stays visible once the build is finished.
Clean the part, paint it and let it dry, then varnish the surface with gloss varnish. Dip the motif briefly only, slide it into place and press it down gently so that the relief seats into the shape of the part. Where the base is curved, light warming and a soft swab help. Draw the film down at the edges with a decal softener and, once it has dried, fix it with matte varnish so that the surface does not pick up unwanted highlights.
