Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the multipurpose helicopter in its search and rescue (SAR) version from the Italian maker Italeri in the popular 1:48 scale. SAR stands for Search And Rescue. The model is supplied as an unassembled and unpainted kit; the box offers decals for several marking options (the instructions supplied give the exact list).
The Bell UH-1 Huey is among the most widely used helicopters in history. The AB-205 type is its Italian license-built version, produced by Agusta (Agusta-Bell). It is a single-engine machine with one main and one tail rotor, powered by a turboshaft engine, with a roomy cabin and large sliding doors. In the SAR configuration it served on search and rescue duties — evacuating the wounded, rescuing people and carrying response teams — with a number of European air arms.
A helicopter is made by its glazing and its cabin interior, so first finish and paint the inside, the seats and the instrument panel before you close up the fuselage. Fit the clear parts with canopy cement, which does not fog the transparencies, and protect them with a mask while spraying. Sand the main and tail rotor blades thin and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats; the conspicuous rescue finish (often in bright signal colors) and light weathering around the engine and doors give the model conviction.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
