An armament accessory for models of US carrier-based attack aircraft: two AGM-62 Walleye I guided bombs and one AN/AWG-16 data link pod.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AGM-62 Walleye I is an American television-guided weapon carried from the second half of the 1960s by the carrier-based attack aircraft of the US Navy. It has no engine of its own: after release it glides to the target and holds to the image contrast the operator locks it onto before release. That set it apart from the free-fall bombs which had until then made up the main armament of attack aircraft.
According to the name, two Walleye I bombs and one data link pod designated AN/AWG-16. Such a pod provides the radio link between the aircraft and the released weapon, so the crew sees the picture from the seeker head even after release. On the model the pod hangs on its own pylon, usually asymmetrically against the bombs, which gives the whole arrangement the typically mismatched look of a combat configuration.
This is an accessory for a kit. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
