This resin accessory represents the American AN/ALQ-131 electronic jamming pod in the deep variant, in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accurately made underwing pod with which you complete the armament and equipment of a whole range of combat aircraft. It replaces a coarser or missing plastic part and gives a model a realistic look.
The AN/ALQ-131 is a modular electronic warfare jamming pod carried by a whole range of US Air Force machines, among them the A-7 Corsair II, the A-10 Thunderbolt II, the F-4 Phantom II, the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the F-111. The deep variant differs from the shallow one in the height of the housing according to the modules fitted. The pod served to protect the aircraft against radars and guided missiles.
Wash the mold release residue off the part, separate the casting block and bond it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
