This is not an airplane kit but a small detail part in resin. The set replaces the windscreen wipers on a model of the American heavy bomber Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress in 1:48 scale from HK Models. Wipers are among the components that can hardly be made well in injection-molded plastic: either they are too thick, or they do not appear in the kit at all and the modeler has to make them from wire.
A large B-17 model in 1:48 scale has a sizeable pilot's cockpit, which the viewer has right at eye level. The glazing is therefore the first place they look. A resin casting can manage the thin arm of a wiper and its fine attachment to the frame, so on the glass the wiper sits like a real component rather than a plastic bump. It is a typical job that costs a few minutes of work and shows at once in photographs of a finished model.
The accessory is supplied unpainted, as a resin casting. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
