CMK 1:48 Boulton Paul Defiant engine set is a resin detail set for experienced modelers that offers a partly exposed Rolls-Royce Merlin engine for a Defiant fighter model from the Airfix kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin detail set in 1:48 scale by the Czech maker CMK makes it possible to show the partly exposed Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine of the British Boulton Paul Defiant fighter. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory meant to raise the detail of the nose section of a model from the Airfix kit considerably. The set usually contains castings of the engine, the engine bearers and the adjacent cowlings.
The Boulton Paul Defiant was a British two-seat fighter from the beginning of the Second World War, marked out by a rotating gun turret behind the pilot and by the absence of fixed forward-firing machine guns. It was powered by the liquid-cooled Rolls-Royce Merlin twelve-cylinder engine. Exposing the powerplant is among the most striking ways of bringing a model to life.
First wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut away the casting blocks and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. The engine comes out well once washes and a dry brush bring up the cast detail.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin accessory. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
