1:48 BLU-1A (750 lb) napalm bombs (4 pcs) is a set of four 3D-printed incendiary bombs for models of American aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set of four 3D-printed incendiary bombs in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but external stores for one. Bombs of this class were thin-walled containers filled with thickened incendiary mixture, with no fins, so they fell unguided and burst on impact. The shape is therefore unmistakable and looks more like a drop tank than a classic bomb.
Incendiary bombs served to cover open targets and vegetation over an area. Because they had neither fins nor aerodynamic shaping, they were dropped from low altitude and the contents splashed across the target area. They were carried by tactical aircraft of the US Air Force, the Navy and the Marine Corps, and usually hung under the wing on standard pylons.
Cut the supports away with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the remains off; do not snap them. The printed material is hard and brittle, so work without pressure. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and lay down a base coat. The surface of these bombs is usually smooth and glossier than on bombs with a fragmentation filling, so a semi-gloss finish is worth it.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
