Injection-molded plastic kit of the Lockheed C-130J Hercules transport aircraft in the exceptionally large 1:48 scale from Italeri. The C.5 designation corresponds to the Royal Air Force. The model has engraved panel lines, a glazed flight deck, well-developed landing gear and four engines with six-blade propellers. Because of its size it is a flagship piece for a collection.
The C-130 Hercules is the legendary American tactical transport aircraft with a high-mounted wing and a rear cargo ramp, operated all over the world. The C-130J version is the most modern generation: it is powered by four high-output turboprop engines with six-blade composite propellers, and it has digital avionics and a head-up display. C.5 is the designation used by the Royal Air Force.
Given the large span, allow for enough space and firm support of the wing while gluing. Join the parts with liquid cement for plastic and, on larger areas, press them together and let them set thoroughly. Mask the flight deck glazing and the side windows. Apply primer before painting and spray the large areas with an airbrush. Paint the propellers and the landing gear separately, and pick out the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
