Canadair CL-13 Sabre Mk.4 resin landing gear bay set, 1:48 for a faithful rendition of the main landing gear bays of the Canadian license-built version of the F-86 Sabre fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft model but a resin detail set from the Czech maker CMK. It replaces the simplified main landing gear bays with faithfully cast bays complete with pressed detail, ribbing and plumbing runs. The set is intended to detail an injection-molded model of the Canadair CL-13 Sabre Mk.4 fighter in 1:48 scale.
The Canadair CL-13 Sabre was the Canadian license-built version of the American F-86 Sabre jet fighter. The Mk.4 was produced in the first half of the 1950s and a number of machines served with the Royal Air Force and other operators before they moved on to more modern variants. On single-engine jet fighters the open landing gear bays are among the visually prominent areas that a detailed casting brings to life.
First wash the resin parts in warm soapy water so that the mold release residue disappears. Carefully cut off the casting blocks with a saw or a cutting disc, sand them down and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding resin. Paint the bays before you close up the airframe and pick them out with a wash to emphasize the detail.
The set holds resin add-on parts only; the model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
