A set of resin wheels for the Douglas B-26 (A-26) Invader, the type 1 form, 1:48 scale, replaces the kit wheels with more accurate castings. It is a landing gear accessory, not an aircraft model.

This item is a supplementary resin set, not an aircraft kit. It contains landing gear wheels for the twin-engine bomber and attack aircraft Douglas Invader in the form designated type 1. The resin castings have a more legible tread pattern and finer hub detail than the parts from a plastic kit and, above all, they have no mold seam, which on a round part you would otherwise have to sand away laboriously.
The Douglas Invader was a twin-engine all-metal aircraft which in its time stood out for its high speed and long service life, thanks to which it stayed in service for many years after the end of its original era. During that time the aircraft went through a range of modifications including various types of wheels and hubs. The maker of the accessories therefore distinguishes several forms designated by type numbers, and further ones are made as well. Check against photographs which form suits your particular aircraft.
Wash the wheels in lukewarm water with detergent and cut the casting block off with a saw. Guide the cut so that a flat mating surface is left, and then sand the surface down. Sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, because plastic glue has no effect on resin. The hub is best separated from the tire with a circular mask or masking fluid. The tires look better in a dark gray shade than in black, with light dusting where they touch the ground.
