A set of finely 3D-printed exhaust stacks in 1:48 scale for the German fighter Messerschmitt Bf 109G. It is not a model, but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic exhausts from the boxed kit with more accurate printed parts for outside installation. The set is designed for Bf 109G kits from manufacturer Eduard.
3D printing can faithfully capture the hollow exhaust stack openings and fine surface detail, which tend to be simplified on injection-molded plastic. Outside installation makes it easier to fit the parts even at a later stage of the build and allows the exhausts to be painted separately.
Carefully separate the parts from the print supports, clean them up, and glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue). Apply a primer suited to printed parts before painting; for the exhausts, a combination of dark metallic shades with a hint of scorched rust and brown tones and pigments works well.
This is a detail accessory, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue, and paints are not included in the package.
