1:48 F-111A/B/C/D - weighted wheel set (3D Printed) is a printed set of wheels with sag under the weight of the aircraft. It is an accessory, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of wheels made by 3D printing for models of the American F-111 combat aircraft in 1:48 scale. It replaces the wheels from the kit and, above all, adds the sag of the tire where it meets the ground. The F-111 is a heavy machine and its tires are visibly loaded in photographs, so a perfectly round wheel on a model gives away at once that the machine is merely balancing on the surface. The set is not an aircraft model.
The F-111 was an American combat aircraft with variable-geometry wings, designed for low-level penetration in all weathers. It was produced in several versions for the air force and for the navy, with the naval B version never entering service in the end. The machine was exceptionally heavy for its time and had a robust landing gear with large wheels, so that it could carry the weight and operate from ordinary surfaces.
The printed parts are held on thin supports. Snip them off close to the part and level the surface with a file or a scalpel. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply primer before painting. Do not treat the tire with black; a dark gray with a hint of brown keeps the tread detail. Seat the wheels so that the flattened area rests on the surface, otherwise the whole effect disappears.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
