This is a detail set, not a standalone airplane model. These 3D-printed resin exhaust nozzles from ReSkit replace the corresponding parts in the base kit of the F-111F tactical bomber in 1:48 scale. The package contains nozzles in both the open and the closed position, so you can choose the state matching a parked or a running machine. The set is intended for Academy kits.
The General Dynamics F-111F Aardvark was an American tactical bomber with variable-geometry wings, the so-called swing wing. It was powered by two Pratt and Whitney TF30 turbofan engines with afterburners. The circular exhaust nozzles are among the prominent features of the tail of the aircraft, and rendering them faithfully noticeably raises the realism of a finished model.
First wash the print resin residue off the parts, carefully cut away the print supports and sand them with respiratory protection. Glue resin with cyanoacrylate glue, as cement for plastic does not work here. Check the fit against the tail of the fuselage before gluing; small adjustments to mating surfaces are common with resin parts. Accent the inside of the nozzles with a dark wash and metallic shades.
This is an add-on set for more advanced modelers. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
