Open exhaust nozzle of the F-16 Fighting Falcon engine (F100-PW-220) in 1:48 scale from ReSkit. A 3D-printed resin detail set.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set, not a standalone model. This 3D-printed resin open exhaust nozzle from ReSkit replaces the plastic nozzle part in the base kit of the F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter in 1:48 scale. The set is tailored to the fit of a particular type of kit, which is why it differs from the otherwise identically named variant for a different base model.
The F-16 version with the Pratt and Whitney F100-PW-220 engine has a characteristic exhaust nozzle whose shape differs from the later F100-PW-229 version and from the nozzles of General Electric engines. The rendering of the petals and of the inner liner is among the details that make a model convincing.
Wash the print resin residue off the part, cut away the print supports and sand it with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Pick out the inside of the nozzle with a dark wash and metallic shades, and suggest heat staining on the outer skin.
This is an add-on set for more advanced modelers. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
