An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier-based multirole aircraft F/A-18A Hornet in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. It is a new mold with a finely engraved surface, clear plastic for the canopy glazing, decals and underwing stores. The model captures the early single-seat A version of this famous naval fighter-bomber.
The F/A-18 Hornet is an American twin-engined carrier-based multirole aircraft that combines the roles of fighter and attack aircraft in a single type. The F/A-18A version was the first production single-seat variant put into service with the US Navy and the Marine Corps. The Hornet is marked out by its pair of canted vertical tails, its capable avionics and a wide range of underwing stores for air combat as well as attacks on ground targets.
Use liquid cement for plastic, and glue the clear parts with super glue or a special canopy glue. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and lay the colors on with an airbrush; on the gray naval schemes you will appreciate a fine accentuation of the panel lines and restrained weathering. Paint the underwing stores and fit them at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
