The F/A-18E Super Hornet is a single-seat carrier combat aircraft meant both for attacking ground targets and for air combat. It differs from the earlier Hornet in its greater size, its angular, canted air intakes and the prominent leading-edge extensions between the fuselage and the wing, which keep it agile at high angles of attack. Power comes from a pair of turbofan engines. The wing folds for life on a ship deck, so that the aircraft takes up as little room as possible.
The Golden Dragons name marks a particular marking scheme, that is a particular finish and lettering for which the set offers decals. Finish and paint the cockpit before you close it with the glazing, and mask the glazing before spraying. On carrier aircraft it pays to spend time on the landing gear: the legs are sturdy, but they have to stand symmetrically, or the model will lean to one side on the shelf. Fit the external stores only after the fuselage is painted and try them dry first, so that they sit symmetrically under both wing halves. Choose the finish and the markings according to the instructions.
