Painting masks for a model of the F4U Corsair fighter in 1:48 scale, cut for the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F4U Corsair is an American carrier fighter of the Second World War period, recognizable at first glance by its cranked inverted gull wing. The long nose and the heavily framed canopy glazing make it a model where masking the glazed areas pays off the most: with that many frames, strips of tape cut by hand would take longer than the build itself.
The set contains pre-cut painting masks for the model in 1:48 scale. It is cut for the Tamiya kit, so the shapes fit its glazing without further adjustment. Check the exact extent, that is, which areas the set covers and whether it also covers the wheels, against the manufacturer's information and the instructions.
Apply the masks before spraying, not once the paint has dried. The surface has to be clean and degreased, otherwise the edge of the mask will lift and the paint will creep underneath. Place the mask with tweezers and press the edges down with a toothpick or a wooden stick, above all where it runs onto a frame. Spray in thin coats; a heavy coat of paint builds a ridge at the edge of the mask. After spraying, take the masks off carefully and do not leave them on the model any longer than necessary.
The aircraft model, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
