LÖÖKplus is not an airplane model but a combined package of several detail sets from the maker Eduard, gathered into one box. The core of every LÖÖKplus is the LööK set - a pre-colored instrument panel (Brassin / 3D print) complemented by pre-colored steel seat belts. To that Eduard adds further accessories for the same aircraft, typically masks for the canopy and the wheels and resin or 3D-printed landing gear wheels. The package is intended for the kits of the Fw 190 D-9 in 1:48 scale from MiniArt.
The point of the range is simple: instead of picking up the individual sets one at a time you get a matched group of accessories that complement one another and are tuned to one particular kit. The result is a detailed cockpit, accurate wheels and a cleanly sprayed canopy without the laborious masking with tape.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9, nicknamed the Dora, was the peak of the development of the legendary 190. Unlike the earlier versions with the BMW radial engine, it received the inline liquid-cooled Junkers Jumo 213, on account of which both the nose and the tail of the fuselage were lengthened, and hence the nickname the long-nosed Dora. It entered combat at the close of the Second World War, where it excelled at high altitude and ranked among the most capable German piston fighters of its day.
Seat the pre-colored instrument panel and the belts in the cockpit before you glue the fuselage together, because painting is no longer needed and careful bonding with super glue (cyanoacrylate) is enough. Wash the resin and 3D-printed wheels in lukewarm water with dish soap, cut the casting blocks off and spray them with primer. Stick the masks onto a clean, degreased canopy, seat them into the frames with a toothpick and spray in thin coats so that paint does not creep underneath. Always check the actual contents of the package against the enclosed instructions.
The package contains accessories only - it is not an airplane kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
