Fw 190A-8 / R2: landing gear legs (3D print) is a detail accessory from the brand Eduard in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a set of printed landing gear parts that replaces the plastic parts from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This product is a detail set, not an airplane model. It contains 3D printed landing gear legs and landing gear bay doors for models of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 and its R2 version in 1:48 scale. The parts serve as a direct replacement for the plastic parts from the matching Eduard kits: the aircraft kit itself has to be obtained separately.
The Fw 190 had a fairly wide and robust landing gear that is very clearly seen on a finished model. Injection-molded plastic, however, runs into the limits of the mold: the hoses, the stiffeners, the fine edges of the doors and their real thickness are difficult to render in it. Direct 3D printing handles these details markedly more accurately, the bay doors come out thinner and the overall impression of the landing gear is closer to reality. The A-8/R2 version was a heavily armed variant intended to destroy bombers; the landing gear as such did not differ from the standard A-8, so the set covers both.
For modelers building the Fw 190 in 1:48 for whom the landing gear straight from the kit is not enough and who want extra detail on the most visible part of the model. The set is installed as a one-to-one replacement, but working with printed parts presupposes basic experience with cyanoacrylate glue and sanding.
The set is an accessory to a kit, not a model. It does not contain the plastic kit, paints or glue. Sand the printed parts with protection for your airways, ideally wet.
