This is an add-on set of aircraft armament, not an aircraft model. The box from Reskit contains two resin, or possibly 3D-printed, GBU-12 laser-guided bombs in the version with a thermally protective layer, in 1:48 scale. It serves to arm models of modern combat aircraft realistically.
The GBU-12 is a Paveway II laser-guided bomb based on a classic 500 lb bomb, fitted with a guidance head and deployable fins. The thermally protected variant has a surface finish that resists the high temperatures inside a weapons bay and in high-speed flight. This munition was among the most widespread precision armament of tactical aircraft.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent and separate them from the casting blocks, then bond with super glue. The fins are fragile, so handle them with care. Paint the body of the bomb according to the particular use; the thermally protective layer can be suggested with a different shade and completed with technical stencils.
An add-on set. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
