Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German project fighter Messerschmitt Me 509 in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. It is a compact model with a finely engraved surface, clear plastic for the canopy glazing and a small photo-etched fret. The subject is an unrealized wartime project, so the kit belongs among the popular what-if models of the so-called Luft'46 era.
The Messerschmitt Me 509 was a German fighter project of the Second World War that grew out of the Me 309 design. Its characteristic feature was the engine placed behind the cockpit with a long shaft to the propeller in the nose, much as on the American Bell P-39 Airacobra. The aircraft remained no more than a project and was never built or flown, so everything about its appearance rests on period drawings.
Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched and clear parts with super glue. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing up the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and lay the paint on with an airbrush. Because it is a project, you have a freer hand in choosing camouflage and markings and can take your inspiration from period German schemes of the end of the war.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
