1:48 German Pzkpfw IV Ausf.H Medium is an injection-molded plastic kit of the German Panzer IV medium tank in its late combat version from Hobby Boss.

A plastic kit of the most numerous variant of the German medium tank of the Second World War. The 1:48 scale is a sensible compromise between the compact size of the finished model and the level of detail, so the kit suits even a place where there is no longer room for a display case of 1:35 vehicles. Hobby Boss has been building a range of armor in this scale for a long time, and the Ausf.H version joins it alongside the earlier F2 and J variants.
The Ausf.H was the most numerous production version of the Panzer IV. It reached units from 1943 and fought on the Eastern and Western Fronts alike. It carried a long 75 mm gun barrel, which at last let the tank deal with the Soviet T-34, and the recognition feature of the variant is the side armor skirts protecting the hull and the turret against anti-tank rifles. The vehicle served until the end of the war and formed the backbone of the German tank units.
Finish the running gear and the inside of the hull before you close the hull up, because there is no getting at them later. Fit the side skirts only after the base shade has been sprayed, or the surfaces beneath them will stay bare. For a three-color camouflage an airbrush and thin coats pay off; build the weathering up step by step, first a dark wash into the engraved detail and only then dust pigments on the running gear and the fenders.
The set contains plastic parts to be assembled; tools, glue and paints have to be obtained separately.
