An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Grumman F-14A Tomcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Great Wall Hobby. It is a modern, richly detailed mold with a number of movable features: the variable-geometry wings can be built spread or swept, the flaps and slats lowered, the speed brakes opened and the nose radome hinged aside with the radar suggested.
The F-14 Tomcat is a two-seat twin-engine carrier fighter with the characteristic variable-geometry wings, which change their sweep according to the speed of flight. It was designed for the defense of a carrier force and for the long-range intercept role with a powerful radar and long-range missiles. Its silhouette with twin fins and a wide fuselage is among the best known in aviation history.
Finish and paint the cockpit of both seats before closing the fuselage, mask the clear canopies and bond them after painting. Decide whether you will build the wings spread or swept; both positions look convincing. Fit the external stores according to the scheme. Join the parts with liquid cement, treat the surface with a primer and apply the paints with an airbrush in thin coats.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
