This resin detail set from the Czech maker CMK replaces the control surfaces of a model of the British Hawker Hurricane Mk.II fighter with separately cast parts. They can be set in a deflected position and give a model a realistic, lively look. The set is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the Hurricane Mk.II kit in 1:48 scale.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-engine fighter which, together with the Spitfire, carried the main weight of the Battle of Britain. The Mk.II version received the more powerful Merlin XX engine and, in further sub-versions, heavier armament: four 20 mm cannon on the Mk.IIC or twelve machine guns on the Mk.IIB. The Hurricane served on every front as a fighter and as a fighter-bomber.
Cut the original surfaces off the model and replace them with the resin ones. Wash the parts free of mold release agent, clean up the casting blocks and glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The fabric-covered rudders of the Hurricane have a pronounced rib structure, so bring it out with soft shading. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
The set is an accessory for the given model, not a kit on its own. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
