The Saab JAS-39 Gripen is a Swedish single-engine multi-role fighter of canard layout, that is with a forward horizontal foreplane and a delta wing. The abbreviation JAS denotes the three roles of the machine: fighter (Jakt), attack (Attack) and reconnaissance (Spaning). The single-seat A version is the basic combat variant introduced with the Swedish Air Force in the 1990s. The Gripen was designed as a light, agile aircraft that is undemanding in service and able to operate even from road bases.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Mask the cockpit and the clear canopy carefully before painting; on this type the canopy can be shown in the open position. Apply a primer and spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. You bring the Swedish gray finish to life with a fine panel wash. Paint the stores and the tanks separately and fit them only once the base coat is finished.
