The Continental O-170-3 engine for the L-4 Grasshopper in 1:48 scale is a finely 3D printed resin engine set with cowlings. It is a detail accessory for experienced modelers, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin, 3D printed set brings a finely made Continental O-170-3 engine for a model of the light observation and liaison aircraft L-4 Grasshopper. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail set for more experienced modelers. The engine is printed as a fine one-piece whole already with its mounts, the firewall and the plumbing; the engine cowlings are separate.
The L-4 Grasshopper was the military version of the light Piper Cub aircraft, widely used in the Second World War for artillery spotting, observation and liaison. It was powered by a flat air-cooled four-cylinder Continental engine.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts and separate them from the print supports. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). With the engine exposed it is worth adding ignition leads from fine wire (not included). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Bring the engine out with a wash and a dry brush.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
