The 1:48 L-4 Grasshopper masking set, inside and outside from the Czech maker Special Mask covers the cockpit glazing from both sides, which on an aircraft with a glazed cabin makes a fundamental difference.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for a model in 1:48 scale, not a kit. What makes this set special is that it contains masks for both sides of the glazing. On a light observation aircraft that has a very practical reason: the cabin is glazed so generously that the frame is visible from the inside too, and a half-finished coat on the inner side spoils the overall impression.
On a fighter, the canopy in a display case usually faces the viewer with one side only. On a type whose cabin is glazed almost all the way round, however, the inside is as visible as the outside. If the frames are sprayed from the outside only, bare clear plastic shows through the glass and the frame looks thin and unfinished. A set with inner as well as outer masks lets you spray the frame from both sides, and the result is then complete. It means one extra spraying step, but one that tells on the result.
Fit the inner masks first, spray the interior shade and let it dry thoroughly. Only then mask the part from the outside and spray the exterior color. The glazing of light aircraft is usually thin and soft, so do not press on it with tweezers and support it with a finger while taking the mask off, so that it does not bend. A cabin with a large glazed area is better glued to the fuselage only after spraying, as the seams can then be cleaned up more easily. Choose a glue for clear plastic that does not fog it.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
