The F-35 Lightning II is an American single-engine combat aircraft built in three versions that differ in the way they take off and land. The A version is land-based and uses an ordinary runway, while the C version is carrier-borne and is recognized by its larger wing area with folding wingtips, sturdier landing gear and an arrestor hook. On both machines the rear fuselage with the exhaust nozzle is among the places noticed first on a model, and that is why it is often replaced.

Compared with the part from the kit they offer finer division of the petals, a thinner trailing edge and a more elaborate interior, that is details that are usually simplified on a production part. The number of parts in the package and the kit the nozzles are cut for are given in the manufacturer instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on them; they are bonded with super glue, and on larger mating surfaces with two-part epoxy. Cut the excess material and production marks away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully so that the shape of the rim is preserved. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the coat will not hold on them. Nozzles are usually sprayed in metallic shades and completed with dark soiling from the exhaust gases; work in thin coats so that the fine surface division stays visible.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
