It holds the twin (paired) Browning machine gun with ammunition belts for the rear defensive position of the British Westland Lysander liaison aircraft. The accessory replaces the simpler parts from the sprue and raises the fidelity of the armament of the modern kit named in the title, the one from Airfix, markedly.
The Westland Lysander was a British liaison and observation high-wing aircraft famous for its short take-off and landing and for its secret night missions delivering agents. In later versions it carried a pair of paired Browning machine guns of .303 caliber in the rear defensive position instead of the older Lewis gun.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts and cut them carefully from the supports; these are fine parts, so protect your airways while sanding. Bond with super glue. Tone the gun and the ammunition belts in dark steel and brass with fine edge highlighting.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
