The model is molded in injection plastic with transparent parts for the glazing and, according to the available information, it also contains photo-etched parts and a more extensive set of decals for several aircraft. The Macchi MC.200 Saetta was an Italian single-seat fighter designed by Mario Castoldi. Compared with the Italian fighter biplanes that came before it, it was a modern all-metal monoplane with a Fiat A.74 RC38 radial engine of around 840 hp, which let the machine reach a speed of about 500 km/h. Its armament was a pair of 12.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns above the engine; the later series added two more 7.7 mm machine guns in the wings. The Saetta was one of the backbones of the Regia Aeronautica fighter arm at the start of the war.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue clean joints with liquid cement for plastic. Paint the cockpit interior and pick out its detail before closing up the fuselage. Glue the glazing with canopy cement. Apply a primer before painting, ideally with an airbrush. Italian fighters wore striking Mediterranean camouflage (a sand base with green and brown mottling) — apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and pick out the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
