This premium injection-molded plastic kit from the maker Zoukei-Mura, from the SWS line, captures the Japanese upgraded version of the F-4EJ Kai Phantom II fighter in 1:48 scale. The SWS line is famous for its high part count and its elaborate execution, including the internal structure of the airframe and the engines, so the model is meant for the more demanding and experienced modeler.
The F-4EJ Kai was an upgrade of the license-built Phantom II in the service of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. The upgrade brought a new radar and avionics and extended the service of this iconic twin-engined machine by decades. The Phantom became famous for its versatility as well as its performance.
Given the number of parts it pays to follow the instructions and build in subassemblies. Use thin cement on the plastic, and paint the cockpit and the engine sections before closing them up. An airbrush, a quality primer and a fine accent on the panels with a wash all prove themselves; the model also allows views of the internal structure.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
