An injection-molded plastic kit of the late production version of the Bf 109 G-6 fighter. The model comes from the well-worked Tamiya aircraft range in 1:48 scale and brings newly shaped parts: revised engine covers, the Erla Haube canopy glazing with better visibility and underwing launchers for 21 cm rockets. The engine covers can be opened even after assembly, so the powerplant can be revealed to view.
The Bf 109 G, the Gustav, was the most numerously produced version of the famous German fighter. The G-6 subversion became the most widespread variant of all and was deployed on every front of the Second World War. Late machines received the lightened Erla Haube glazing and further changes to their equipment; some were supplemented with underwing rocket tubes for fighting bomber formations.
Paint the cockpit and the engine before closing the fuselage. Work over a primer and with an airbrush, and build the color transitions of the mottled camouflage up in thin coats. Mask the glazing, apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and seal them with a matte clear coat. Fit the underwing rocket tubes only at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
