A set of wheels in 1:48 scale for models of the German twin-engine heavy fighter Messerschmitt Bf 110 in the E, F and G versions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 110 was a German twin-engine two-seat aircraft which, on the original idea, was to escort bomber formations deep over enemy territory. Against single-engine fighters, however, it did not prevail and its career shifted elsewhere: to attacks on ground targets, to reconnaissance and finally to night fighting, where its range and load-carrying served it best. The E, F and G forms differed from one another in equipment and in role, but the basic shape of the airframe stayed common to them, and that is why the same set of wheels fits them all.
The wheels of an aircraft model are more on show than one would expect, because a model usually stands on its landing gear in a display case and the viewer leans over it from above. Replacement wheels give a crisper tread, more legible hub detail and a better shape where the tire meets the ground. The extent of the parts and how they are fitted is described in the instructions of the maker of the set.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary plastic cement will not join them; use super glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting. If a tire is flattened on one side, turn it so that the flattening faces the ground, otherwise the model will stand crooked. Paint the hub and the tire separately and leave the glued surfaces free of paint.
This is an add-on set. A kit of the aircraft, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
