This is not a model of the helicopter but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic wheels from the base kit with accurate castings carrying a fine tread pattern and a realistic tire flattening under the weight of the aircraft. The flattened contact patch makes a heavy helicopter on the ground convincing. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Reskit, a specialist in resin wheels.
The Mil Mi-8 is a Soviet, later Russian twin-engine transport helicopter and one of the most widely used helicopters in the world. The Mi-17 version brought more powerful engines and further improvements. The type serves in the transport, assault, rescue and combat roles with dozens of countries and is marked by a sturdy landing gear and a large load capacity.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and clean up the mating surfaces. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways when sanding resin. Paint the wheels separately, set the rubber apart from the hub, and when fitting them make sure the weighted flattening sits squarely on the ground.
