The cockpit of the Mirage 2000N strike aircraft in the basic version with 3D decals, resin in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This cockpit set in the basic rendition from the brand Reskit completes a model of the two-seat Mirage 2000N. The resin parts carry the shape of the tub, the consoles and the seats, while the instrument panels and the side panels are handled by 3D decals, which have a layered structure and come across with relief once stuck on. The manufacturer makes a different set for the related 2000D version, because the equipment of the two cockpits is not the same.
The Dassault Mirage 2000N came about as a strike version intended for penetration low over the terrain. It first flew in 1983 and reached the French Air Force at the end of the 1980s. It differed from the basic fighter version in a strengthened airframe, navigation for low-level flight and above all in the equipment for the carried guided missile. It ended its service only in 2018, when newer types took over its role.
First try the cockpit tub dry in the fuselage halves, because resin tends to be somewhat bulkier than plastic and the mating surfaces often need sanding down. The 3D decals are applied onto a smooth, matte-clear-coated base and seated with a decal softener. The whole interior comes out well if you apply lighter edges with a dry brush over a dark base.
The delivery holds the cockpit fittings; the airframe of the aircraft the builder obtains separately.
