This resin detail set depicts the Soviet short-range air-to-air guided missile R-60 (NATO code name AA-8 Aphid) in the version for the MiG-29. It is not a standalone model: it is supplementary armament and an element of a scene. The set contains the missiles, the launch rails (APU) and a transport crate; photo-etched parts and decals are enclosed.
The R-60 is a light short-range infrared missile introduced in the 1970s and used on a number of Soviet machines including the MiG-21, MiG-23, MiG-29 and Su-27.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The transport crate can also be used on its own as a small element of a scene.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. A model of the aircraft is not included in the package.
