The N1K1-Ja Shiden George Type 11 Koh 1:48 from Hasegawa — an injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese naval fighter from the end of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese naval fighter Kawanishi N1K1-Ja Shiden in 1:48 scale from Hasegawa. The model captures the Type 11 Koh version, which carried the Allied code name George. It offers a finely engraved panel texture, a broken-up cockpit, a clear canopy and decals for machines of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service.
The Shiden was a land-based fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy, created by converting a floatplane fighter. It was powered by a powerful radial engine and had heavy cannon armament. It entered service in 1944 and was among the few Japanese fighters that could match the best Allied machines, such as the Hellcat and the Corsair. The N1K1-Ja version with cannon fitted in the wing brought heavier firepower. A characteristic feature of the first Shidens was the mid-wing layout with long landing gear legs, a legacy of its floatplane origin.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting and spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. Mask the cockpit glazing and bring out the panel lines with a fine wash. Fine grading of the shades and a suggestion of chipped paint suit Japanese dark green camouflage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
