A set of pre-cut masks for painting a model of the North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set saves the slowest part of painting a model: covering the glazing and the boundaries between colors. The pieces are pre-cut to shape, so there is no cutting strips from a roll and no guessing where the edge should run. The cockpit frame then comes out sharp and the same width along its whole length, which shows on a finished model at a glance.
The set is cut for a model of the North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco in 1:48 scale. The Bronco is an American twin-engine observation and light attack aircraft with a pair of tail booms and extensive cockpit glazing, so there really are a lot of frames on it that need covering. The version designation and the kit the set is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions and description.
The masks are applied to a clean and degreased surface, and before spraying, never after it. Press each piece down with a toothpick or a blunt point all the way around the edge, so that paint does not get under it. Lay the paint down in thin coats; a heavy coat creates a ridge at the edge of the mask that stays visible once it is removed. Take the mask off while the finish has only just dried, pulling it sideways rather than straight up.
It suits anyone who does not trust themselves with tape and a hand-held blade on glazing, and equally a modeler who wants an afternoon's work done in a quarter of an hour. The package contains the masks; the kit, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
