This set is NOT an aircraft model but a resin detail accessory intended for Northrop P-61 Black Widow models in 1:48 scale. The cast wheels cover the A as well as the B version and replace the plastic parts with more faithful tires and hubs. The set is meant for more experienced modelers.
The heavy night fighter P-61 stands on rugged landing gear with large wheels, which are prominent on a finished model. Resin tires have a realistic tread and a cleaner hub shape than injection-molded plastic, and in some versions a suggested flattened contact patch, which reproduces the weight of the aircraft. The parts are designed as a direct replacement.
Wash the wheels free of mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue; sand with respiratory protection. Choose a dark gray shade for the tires, set the hubs apart with a mask or a brush and add light weathering.
This is a supplementary set, not a complete kit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
