An injection-molded plastic kit of the late American P-47M Thunderbolt fighter version in 1:48 scale from MiniArt. The Dorsal Fin boxing captures the form with a dorsal fin ahead of the vertical tail surface, which improved directional stability. The Basic Kit version contains only the plastic parts, without photo-etch or masks.
The P-47M was the fastest production version of the Thunderbolt, developed at the end of the Second World War. It was powered by an uprated Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine with a turbocharger, which made it one of the most powerful piston fighters of its day. Only a relatively small number of machines were built and they were used above all against fast targets such as German jet and rocket aircraft. The P-47M had a teardrop canopy giving excellent visibility and eight 12.7 mm machine guns.
Join the parts with thin liquid cement for plastic. A primer before painting is advisable. Late Thunderbolts often flew in a polished natural metal finish, so it pays to reach for a good metalizer and to smooth the surface carefully before it. Bring out the panel lines with a wash and unify the whole with a suitable clear coat according to the level of gloss you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
