This is a detail accessory (an upgrade set), not an airplane kit. The package contains a resin, 3D-printed pilot seat for the cockpit of the P-47D Thunderbolt kit in 1:48 scale from MiniArt, specifically for the late bubble-canopy versions P-47D-25, -26, -28 and -30. The aircraft itself is not in the package: you need the base plastic kit.

What 3D printing brings is a sharpness of detail that injection-molded plastic cannot reach: thin walls on the seat shell, fine lightening holes, stiffeners and edges. In a Thunderbolt cockpit under the sliding bubble canopy the seat is very visible, so the swap shows at once.

Use and fitting

• Separate the parts from the print supports carefully with a knife or a fine saw; do not snap them off.
• Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove print resin residue.
• Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate); ordinary plastic cement does not work on resin.
• Do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection: do not inhale the resin dust.
• Lay down a primer, then the paint (typically interior green and black upholstery) and bring the detail out with a wash and a dry brush.
• Try the part dry before gluing it in; the seat bed in the cockpit of the base kit may need a small adjustment.

For modelers who are building the MiniArt P-47D in 1:48 and want to take the interior beyond the level of the box. Working with resin and super glue calls for a little experience and a steady hand; otherwise the installation is straightforward. It is ideal alongside other cockpit detail sets as well.

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
